Emma Caroline Pratt is a Sydney-based visual artist and educator working across mixed media and drawing. Her practice is observational and intimate, drawn to the quiet, unposed moments of everyday life: small gestures, familiar objects and details that are easily overlooked.

Emma grew up in Kingaroy, Queensland, spending much of her childhood running around outside. Her family spent a lot of time in between the beach and the bush when she wasn’t in Kingaroy. As an adult she moved to Biarritz, France, famous for beef farming and surf; to study the language and immerse herself in the culture. This mix of bush, beach and city continues to shape her perspective and work.

Alongside her art practice, Emma holds a Bachelor of Primary Education and works across teaching, graphic design and art.

Her art and design practices are closely intertwined: design informs her approach to composition, colour and visual storytelling, while drawing and illustration are intuitively woven throughout her design work.

Working under ECP ART, Emma explores love, familiarity and the relationships that make everyday life feel significant, retelling the little things that matter to her, through her own eyes.
